Director

wisdom+work's director is Rob Ryan. We bring a depth of skills and experience to working with change processes in business, government, regional and community sector organisations. We are informed by a range of powerful organisational approaches which include evidence-based practice in leadership, coaching methodologies, group and team development and systems psychodynamics.

In all our consulting, coaching and facilitation we collaborate with leaders, employees and stakeholder groups to create the new thinking necessary for strategic and on-the-ground change.

Skills and Experience

Rob has wide experience as a consultant, coach and facilitator in strategic thinking & planning, team and leadership development and stakeholder engagement. He has worked with individuals and groups in government departments, service organisations and a range of educational institutions.

He provides consulting services in team and leadership development, strategic planning and evaluation, organisation and service reviews, governance and coaching in government, business and not-for-profit sectors.

In his twenty-four years of doing this work, Rob has worked creatively and successfully, consulting to a wide range of clients in leadership, transitions and change management. His experience is deep and varied - he works creatively to support clients in achieving outcomes and bringing wisdom to their work.

His commitment is to collaborative design of organisational approaches that promote deep dialogue, shared thinking and solutions – often in situations where communication and implementation have been impeded. He has also designed and implemented many publicly-subscribed Transitions Leadership programs.

Rob’s approach is informed by his postgraduate studies in change management and extensive experience working in professional and elected voluntary roles in government and not-for-profit organisations. He has high level skills in designing and leading many change projects, and coaching individuals and teams in their professional development, e.g. board chairs, CEOs, individual leaders, leadership teams and other work groups.

Rob uses a range of conceptual frameworks and practices, including systems psychodynamics and strengths-based approaches. He is accredited in the application of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Belbin Team Roles and has used these tools as a powerful support in individual and group development.
